What is Buildings.PLUS?

Buildings.PLUS is a web-based software application that has been designed for people responsible for asset management and property management in any type of organisation that has a significant portfolio of buildings. It is also designed for managers of other assets including parks, open spaces, playgrounds, recreational centres, houses and educations facilities.

The Buildings.PLUS subscription has a web application that runs any type of tablet which enables infield condition surveys, works online and offline and feeds the collected data directly back to Buildings.PLUS.

Register your details with IPWEA to be set up with a new system specific to your organisation.

You will be provided with instructions on how to collate your asset/building/property level data into a standard spreadsheet for IPWEA to upload.

You will then have a fully populated data model ready for you to add your own components through either the desktop Buildings.Plus application or the infield Mobile.Plus application.

You have a full month of free access to undertake condition assessments, analyse the data and produce reports – including lifecycle, valuation, component schedules and Summary reports.

  • Able to justify budgets based on evidence and risk-based lifecycle model – a structured approach to asset planning using a proven methodology.
  • The current BCGs – a list of 230 components in the Reference Library as listed in Practice Note 3 and including unit replacement rates in Buildings.PLUS.

Buildings.PLUS is fully aligned with IPWEA's:

  • Practice Note 3 (PN3): Buildings;
  • International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM), and;
  • NAMS.Property e.Book.

The Building Component References that are listed in PN3 are at the heart of Buildings.PLUS and provide guidance for the surveyor with component names, useful lives, criticalities and gross replacement costs.

Additional Features

  • Up to 3 users for Mobile.PLUS and 5 read-only desktop users. This allows the software to be used more widely within your organisation. You will need to provide IPWEA with a list of email addresses for the additional users.
  • Annually updated Building Component Guidelines with gross replacement rates for more than 200 components.
  • New Calendar function that allows users to record activities/tasks on scheduled dates – for example, planning for the next condition assessment or schedule a date for a repair.
  • New case studies – commencing with Ku-Ring-Gai Council (NSW).
